Household Hazardous Waste One-Day Event

Sunday, October 12 • 9am-1pm

Collect all your household hazardous waste and bring it to our event to dispose of it safely and for free in San Leandro on Sunday, October 12, 2025. To secure your spot, please make an appointment using the form below. The event address will be sent to you in the confirmation email. Space is limited, so we recommend registering early. Alameda County residents only. Businesses cannot participate in these events; find information about business hazardous waste disposal.   • Place accepted materials in your trunk or back cargo space.
  • Have proof of Alameda County residency. Proof of residency can be a driver’s license, a recent utility bill, or a copy of a rental or ownership agreement.
  • Stay in your vehicle. Our professional crew will unload and handle all the toxic materials (It’s state law.)

Family Fun Night: The Not-So-Scary Halloween Show

This Family Fun Night is a magic show full of fun! Bring your ghosts and goblins and superheroes and fairies as tricks reign over treats in this silly, fun, magic-filled “not-so-scary” Halloween show. All ages welcome. Costumes encouraged.

This program will be held in the Karp/Estudillo rooms at the Main Library. Doors open at 6:20pm and the show starts at 6:30pm. Arrive early for up front seats. Doors will close if we reach posted room capacity. Click here for more information.

San Leandro Police Explorers

The Police Explorer Program is an opportunity for young adults between the ages of 14 and 19 to become exposed to the basics of law enforcement through volunteering. Explorers are taught by Police Officers and Police Department employees. It is a leadership program designed to prepare students to be active in the community, learn more about a law enforcement career, obtain valuable work experience, and take on more responsibility as a young adult.
