Used Motor Oil/Filter and Used Cooking Oil
Single-family and multi-family* residents can set out up to three one-gallon jugs and three filters curbside per week for pick-up on their regular collection day.
USED MOTOR OIL AND USED OIL FILTER COLLECTION PROGRAM:
Accepted items: used motor oil and used oil filters.
Anti-freeze, brake fluid, and other automotive fluids are NOT accepted curbside. These items need to be disposed of as hazardous waste. Visit StopWaste.org locations and information for safe disposal of HHW.
- Customers may use their own 1-gallon, screw top container.
- The top must securely close.
- Oil filters must be in clear zipper-lock style bags.
- Place on the curb (not in the gutter) next to the recyclables carts for collection. (*Multi-Family tenants with shared collection service; see below.)
- Used Oil Recovery Kits (oil jugs and oil filter bags) may be requested from and delivered by ACI. Contact us for more information.
*MULTI-FAMILY TENANT CUSTOMERS – USED MOTOR OIL AND USED OIL FILTER COLLECTION PROGRAM: Tenants must establish a safe curbside collection area for oils and filter bags with their complex owner or manager. The area’s location must be shared with ACI personnel and added to complex customer data account for proper collection services. Contact us for more information.
USED COOKING OIL COLLECTION PROGRAM:
(DO NOT MIX MOTOR OIL AND COOKING OIL IN THE SAME CONTAINER)
- Used cooking oil can be placed curbside next to the organics cart in a screw-top plastic container that is no taller than 12 inches in height. (*Multi-Family tenants with shared collection service; see below.)
- The original cooking oil container can be used if it meets the specifications listed above.
- Please label the container “Cooking Oil”.
- Used Oil Recovery Kits (oil jugs) may be requested from the delivered by ACI.
