• CURBSIDE ORGANICS COLLECTION OF USED COOKING OIL FOR SINGLE-FAMILY CUSTOMERS. NEW!
New! ACI will collect in one-gallon or smaller, sealed screw-top containers of used cooking oil less than 12” in height. Place next to (not inside) your organics cart, on the curb, not in the gutter. We will collect up to three gallons of used motor and cooking oil per week. Do not mix oils in the containers. Request oil jug delivery by ACI.
• CURBSIDE RECYCLABLES EXTRA CARDBOARD COLLECTION FOR SINGLE-FAMILY CUSTOMERS AND MULTI-FAMILY CUSTOMERS WITH CART COLLECTION SERVICES. NEW!
NEW! Flatten, cut into pieces no larger than two feet by three feet, and stack next to your recyclables cart for collection. Pieces larger than two feet by three feet will not fit in the hopper of the collection vehicle and will be left behind.
• EXPANDED ACI ON-CALL BULKY ITEM CLEAN-UP PROGRAM FOR SINGLE-FAMILY AND MULTI-FAMILY CUSTOMERS
All single-family, multi-plex, and multi-family residential customers may schedule an on-call bulky item clean-up to discard overflow waste, bulky items, reusable items, and recyclable materials.
PLEASE NOTE: The Temporary bin clean-up program is changing. The new on-call bulky item clean-up program will allow for reuse, recycling, employee safety, and less waste.
An On-Call Bulky Item Clean-Up Collection includes:
- up to three cubic yards of reusable materials, recyclable materials, yard trimmings, and solid waste
- up to three bulky items – an electronic waste item can be substituted for a bulky item.

• HOW DO I DISPOSE OF ELECTRONIC WASTE, MOTOR OIL/FILTERS, PAINT, FLUORESCENT BULBS, PESTICIDES, EXPIRED MEDICATIONS, AND OTHER HAZARDOUS ITEMS?
Hazardous items do not belong in any of our carts or bins. Household batteries can be collected by our drivers, rules apply. Click here for battery collection. Some E-waste can be collected through the expanded On-Call Bulky Item Clean-up Program. • TEXTILE COLLECTION
The curbside collection of bagged textiles will occur the first full week of June and the first full week of October each year. Visit our holiday and special events page for more info.
• LEAF BAG PROGRAM
Leaf bags can be picked up by ACI of San Leandro customers from the ACI San Leandro Office from October 1 through January 15 at no additional charge. Rules apply. Proof of residency is required. While supplies last. Only ACI bags are accepted and collected curbside. The program begins on October 1, 2025.
